Le Manala, a traditional restaurant in Riquewihr

Generous cooking

Le Manala is located in the centre of Riquewihr and welcomes all food-lovers (whether or not you are staying at the hotel). Reservations are strongly recommended.

Why Manala?

In our Alsatian dialect, a Manala is a little boy. It is also the name of a brioche shaped like a man that good children are given on St Nicholas’ day, the 6th of December.

Our Chef, Didier, cooks hearty, traditional dishes from the Alsace region. Simple and delicious food made from seasonal ingredients and Didier’s inspired cooking.

Don’t forget to try “choucroute verte ou Riquewihrienne”. This version of sauerkraut was created in 1996 by several chefs in the town and is Riquewihr’s very own local speciality. It owes its colour and unique flavour to the herbs used. Cabbage is cooked in a cream sauce made with ten fresh herbs. It is served with smoked duck and goose sausages and a white sausage with pistachios. As its name suggests, this dish is only cooked in Riquewihr.

Traditional Décor

With its vintage objects, warm-coloured walls and furniture, the restaurant is decorated in a traditional and welcoming style, just like its food.

The waiting staff are friendly and will do all they can to ensure you have a pleasant and convivial meal.

The restaurant is open for dinner, and occasionally for lunch, and booking is advised.

The restaurant can also take group bookings (up to 70 people). Please contact Jennifer, our group-bookings co-ordinator, who will be delighted to answer your questions and send you our menus and all the information you need.

If you are feeling a little hungry or want to relax with family and friends, hotel guests can help themselves from the Honesty Bar in the old wine cellar.

Open Monday to Sunday, from 6:30 pm.*

Open at lunchtime, by prior reservation, for groups of twenty or more.

Half-board is available for hotel guests including a buffet breakfast and dinner at Manala (excluding drinks) for €32 to €37 per person.*

*The menu is the chef’s choice and cannot be varied. Price varies according to season.
